Research Assistant
Amanuel Sahilu is a research assistant in the Gadagkar Lab. He graduated from Cornell University in 2022 with a degree in Biological Sciences, concentrating in Neurobiology and Behavior. At Cornell, he worked in the Aquadro Lab, where he studied the evolutionary mechanisms behind the gene bag-of-marbles, a crucial gene for germline stem cell differentiation in D. melanogaster. Amanuel is interested broadly in the evolution of signaling processes, both implemented within organisms (neuronally) and external to them (social communication).
